The issue was identified as a problem with a 'routing protocol,' a component in the network that ensures data messages follow the correct path. The Kustwacht announced that the problem was resolved by 13:30 hours on the same day, restoring VHF message transmission for routine traffic, including navigation messages and weather alerts. The agency stated, "We will continue to investigate the cause and to prevent this in the future."
